The most spectacular thing we have seen all week (perhaps in my lifetime) is without a doubt the vast badlands contained in the Petrified Forest National Park. The pastel colors of the rock formations and mineral deposits seem unreal as giant logs of petrified wood stretch out as far as the eye can see. It is hard to imagine that dinosaurs roamed this once tropical forest over 225 million years ago! There were petroglyphs carved in rock, mountains, dry washes, and a variety of desert plants and animals. (We saw roadrunners, pronghorns, jackrabbits, birds of prey, and brightly colored lizards!)
After looking through the hundreds of photos we took inside the park, I'm beginning to realize that pictures can't truly represent nor convey the effect it has on people... it's definately a place to be experienced.

Glad to see you are having a good time. We will be leaving for Oklahoma tomorrow so no email access for awhile. By the way, Robert sold the car and will be closing the deal on Monday.
